House of Grace was founded in 2018. Since then, we have met weekly for worship services and prayer times that are open to everyone. We are lively and informal, with a real family feel, and have built a culture where everyone is welcome—whatever their background or story.
Our team is made up of people with real lived experience, each with their own story of transformation. Richard and Claire saw a need in the Dearne Valley and felt called to launch House of Grace. One year later, Mark and Diane joined them, and together they have served as the leadership team and trustees ever since.
From the beginning, we’ve had a passion to love and serve our community. We aim to help alleviate poverty and suffering through the provision of food hampers, hygiene hampers, baby packs, winter clothing, and school uniforms. As COVID-19 hit and the cost-of-living crisis grew, the need for our support—and the demand for our services—has only increased.
As we continue to grow, we have plans to expand our work through community meals, lunches for the elderly, fun days, seasonal activities, and workshops to develop life skills and more. Increased demand also creates more opportunities for people to volunteer. Getting involved not only helps others but also gives volunteers a sense of belonging and supports positive mental health.
We believe House of Grace will continue to be a place of hope, life, and love.
